DR 50+ Directories Worth Your Time

Authority alone is not a reason to submit. These are established directories that also have moderation, indexed pages, and an audience that actually shows up.

Read this first

Domain Rating is Ahrefs' third-party estimate of backlink authority on a 0–100 scale. It moves, it differs from Moz's DA and Semrush's Authority Score, and no list of exact numbers stays accurate for long — which is why this page names the directories and shows you how to check current metrics yourself rather than publishing figures that will be wrong next quarter.

Every entry below is an established, widely used platform in the DR 50+ range at the time of writing. Verify before you invest real effort.

Software & product

  • G2 — the dominant B2B software review platform; category and comparison pages rank for high-intent queries.
  • Capterra / GetApp / Software Advice — the Gartner network; one profile ecosystem, broad coverage.
  • TrustRadius — long-form reviews, credible in enterprise evaluation.
  • Product Hunt — launch platform with a permanent, well-crawled product page.
  • AlternativeTo — owns "alternatives to" intent across almost every software category.
  • SaaSHub — comparison-first listings, easy submission, frequently referenced.
  • Slant — opinionated community comparisons.

Startup & company data

  • Crunchbase — the default company record; reused as a source everywhere.
  • LinkedIn company page — not a directory in name, but the single most consulted entity record for a business.
  • AngelList / Wellfound — company and hiring profile with strong domain authority.
  • F6S — startup profiles and programme listings.

Developer & technical

  • GitHub — an organisation profile plus a README with your link is one of the strongest free citations available.
  • StackShare — tech stack listings for developer-facing products.
  • Platform marketplaces — Chrome Web Store, Slack App Directory, Shopify App Store, HubSpot Marketplace, Zapier's app directory. Consistently the highest-value listings for products that integrate.

Local & business

  • Google Business Profile — mandatory for anything with a location or service area.
  • Apple Business Connect and Bing Places — the other two map surfaces.
  • Yelp, Trustpilot, Better Business Bureau — high-authority review and trust records.
  • Chambers of commerce and trade associations — often lower DR but the most relevant local citations you can get.

Local listings only pay off if the details match everywhere — the NAP consistency guide covers that process.

How to verify authority yourself

  1. Check current DR / DA / Authority Score in whichever tool you already pay for.
  2. More importantly, check organic traffic to the directory's category pages, not just the homepage.
  3. Confirm the page your listing lives on is indexed — search a unique phrase from it.
  4. Look for moderation evidence and a real editorial team.
  5. Check whether existing listings are current or three years stale.

A DR 35 directory your buyers actually read beats a DR 78 link farm every time — the reasoning is in niche vs general directories.

Prioritising the list

Work top-down by buyer proximity, not by DR: platform marketplaces you integrate with, then review platforms in your category, then alternatives directories, then general company records, then everything else. Two properly completed listings a week for a quarter covers this entire page.

Put it into practice

Browse the directory to find the next backlink opportunity to act on.
